I live in Asheville, and I love writing.
In fact, I've always loved writing (and reading). So years ago, when I got out of school and landed in a small press in Chapel Hill, I felt extremely lucky. Even better, I got to play several different roles: graphic designer, proofreader—and marketing and pr guy.
That's when I learned how much fun it is to get a company's story out to the public. Since then I've been lucky to be able to keep writing. I've written press releases, contributed articles, blog posts, alumni features, faculty and student profiles, and more.
A lot of it has been for schools, including Christ School, Carolina Day School, and Rainbow Community School. I've written for businesses and non-profits, too, including Grateful Steps Publishing, Hav-a-Cup Coffee, and RiverLink. And I've written articles on subjects I love for the Mountain Xpress and Iwanna.
A lot has changed in my life since that first job, though I still enjoy reading (in my spare time, along with spending time with my wife and son, good food, good company, and everything else Asheville has to offer).
But what hasn't changed is the pleasure of getting people talking about what's going on in local businesses, schools, and non-profits.
